Hazel Pauline Osborne, 92, Hardinville, Illinois passed away at 11:14 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Indiana following a stroke she suffered earlier in the day. Hazel was born in Crawford County, Illinois on November 6, 1920, she was the daughter of Joseph L. & Dora M (Skaggs) Mikeworth.
Hazel worked at the Oblong Telephone office as an operator for many years and later as a cook for the Hardinville School. She was a member of the Hardinville United Church and a lifelong resident of the Hardinville area. She enjoyed crocheting, planting and caring for her flowers and once she got satellite television watching game shows, movies and hockey games.
Hazel married Herbert Glenn Osborne on October 15, 1945, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1990. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Paula Yvette Osborne; a brother, Millard Mikeworth and two sisters-in-law, Norma Mikeworth and Zelma Mikeworth.
Hazel is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Gene & Marie Osborne, Timmy Glenn & Tracy Osborne and Thomas Leroy Osborne; eight grandchildren, Steven & Kristin Osborne, Bradley & Melanie Osborne, Samantha & Steve Berry, Jennifer & Jessie Abril, Michael Osborne, Laleya & Wyatt Christanson, Kivalina & Dan Clark and Isiah Osborne; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Russell Mikeworth; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pastor Rick Catt will officiate the funeral service. Burial will follow in Hardinville Cemetery, Hardinville, Illinois.
